Vanane Borian was born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia. She Immigrated to Israel with parents in 1998. Vanane graduated from the multidisciplinary design department at Shenkar
College of Engineering, Design, and Arts, with Bachelor and Master degrees. From 2016 she is working on her Ph.D. thesis at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Art. The topic of her dissertation is “Post-USSR feminist art in post-soviet countries and in the Immigration field”. Her main idea is to collaborate on practical work, theoretical research, and activism in the sphere of social critical arts.
As a woman and an immigrant, Vanane focuses on issues of identities, stereotype views of women in the society and typical gender problems. Her artworks discuss and criticise political problems, ethnic traditions, patriarchy stereotypes, the religion as a dictator of morality and the role of a woman in our social and political lives.

Joseph Zakarian started performing and mixing at the age of 14. Though born and raised in Jordan, it was a seven-year stint in his native Armenia where he refined his skill for mixing. Years of club hopping ’til dawn, mixing to different crowds in Yerevan culminated in one of the biggest highlights of his career so far: performing at the pan Armenian games before hundreds of thousands from all over the world. Joseph also performed at events in Manchester, Beirut, Los Angeles and Miami.

Ali Ansari is an Iranian artist born and raised in Tehran. In 2002 Ali moved to Armenia to study in the University of Fine Arts. In 2012 he moved to Georgia and after 2 years living and working there moved to Berlin, Germany and then to Paris, France. Ali’s works were showcased in group and solo exhibitions around the world. Currently Ali works as a graphic designer an his specialization is in the field of children’s book illustration. Since Ali has illustrated lot of books and worked with many journals and publications, during ARTsakh Fest he will host an open workshop for children, young people and youth on illustration of old and modern stories of Armenia. The population is growing in Armenia, and creative education helps children develop their imagination. Imagination and education are the key to the future.
